I’m very happy to say that I’m back on Scottish soil! And not for a brief trip–I’m currently writing this post from my second floor flat in Edinburgh.
I’ve only been back for 3 1/2 weeks, but it feels like I’ve never left. I am fortunate enough to have found a really lovely flatmate (Hi Pauline!) and live just outside the city center in a great neighborhood with a gorgeous public park nearby.
Upon my return, my friend Hannah sent me a Christmas card with the best surprise inside–a message telling me to visit The Pastry Section, a nearby bakery, to pick up a special package.

Said package included a box of assorted pastries and cakes, a jar of homemade jam, cookies, and festive chocolates. All were delicious, particularly the salted caramel brownie–a dense, chocolatey, fudgy treat topped with swirls of buttery, salty, & velvety smooth salted caramel. It definitely makes my top ten list (and I’ve had my fair share of brownies).
Why/how am I back you ask? Well, I’ve made it no secret on here that Scotland holds a special place in my heart, and I’ve made it my mission to return. I’ll be starting a Master’s in Strategic Communication and PR in a couple of weeks, with the intention to ultimately work in a communications/social media role (ideally food & drink related) in Edinburgh or Glasgow.
That being said, I’m looking forward to sharing my food-related adventures here in Scotland (and further afield) with you!
